The collection presents monographs and articles by L. von Mises, in which he developed his famous theory of the economic cycle, today known as the theory of the economic cycle of the Austrian school. In 1974, Friedrich Hayek was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for the development of this theory. Mises' cycle theory describes economic processes occurring in the phase of an unsustainable boom triggered by a decline in interest rates in the economy below the "natural" level. Special attention is paid to analyzing the process of credit expansion in the form of issuing fiduciary means of circulation. The collection includes chapters from L. von Mises's general economic treatise "Human Activity", devoted to the theory of capital and the theory of interest. They will allow the reader to better understand the conceptual apparatus and logic of the theory of the economic cycle.
