The science fiction story by the famous writer and journalist Leonid Platov tells about an expedition to the Far North in search of an unknown land where mysterious "children of the sun" live.
This story began with a wild goose? Or rather, with a note found on the paw of the bird by young naturalists from the city of Lankaran and accidentally fell into the hands of scientist-ethnographer Vladimir Savchuk. From scrappy words on birch bark it was possible to understand that some Russian traveler of the XX century, crossing the Taymyr, found a lost tribe of Samoyeds and with the help of the ringed bird informed about his discovery. Without wasting time, an expedition sets out to find the traveler and the mysterious "children of the sun" who worship the mysterious Mauk bird. After a long journey across the tundra, through blizzards and frost, the heroes find themselves in the unknown Land of the Seven Grasses. But what is this country? How could it appear in the impregnable mountains of Byrrang at the very edge of the world? And whether the brave traveler who lived with the "children of the sun" for more than twenty years is alive...?
