Practical psychiatry is based on the conceptual level of clinical thinking, which requires the specialist to know a variety of names, concepts, and descriptions of various manifestations of mental pathology. In a concise and accessible form, this knowledge is reflected in the proposed handbook.
Each position is presented according to a single algorithm from simple to complex: symptom - syndrome - condition - nosology - clinical example - algorithm of assistance. This approach turns the handbook into a concise practical guide.
Symptoms, syndromes and conditions are arranged in alphabetical order. Each position is provided with a vivid clinical description from the author's practice, ciphering of the syndromal judgment for each described case according to ICD-10 and ICD-11, and this is a peculiarity of the edition. This approach continues the clinical traditions of Russian psychiatry, oriented to the nosological interpretation of cases, and at the same time interprets the described situations in accordance with international diagnostic classifications. Information on ICD-11 is provided for informational purposes only.

The annexes contain scales of correlation of negative and positive syndromes, classifier and glossary of drugs used in psychiatry, with indication of INN and translation into Latin for easy prescription.
The handbook is addressed to novice psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, narcologists, students of specialized universities, as well as to all those interested in psychiatric symptomatology and syndromology.
The publication is intended for medical workers. The application and use of medicines mentioned in the book is possible only on the prescription of the attending physician.
