And since the police have no official theory, and adults whisper in their kitchens and hide newspapers from the children, the best friends create their own list of suspects.
It includes all the "strange" residents of the town: from the grocery store owner to the withdrawn boy from the next street. People they know well, and people they don't know at all. And although their detective methods are rather naive, Miv and Sharon learn much more about their neighbors, their neighborhood, and even each other than they ever intended.
But what if the main clue the friends are trying to uncover means the end? Of friendship. Of childhood. And of someone's life...
