Fantasio learns that his uncle, whom he last saw at his christening, has died and left a will to his nephews. He will be the one who will pass the three tests. There are two candidates, Fantasio and his cousin Zantafio.
In the first test, they will have to invent a new socially useful device. After not very successful attempts to make something original Fantasio builds a phantacopter. Cousin Zantafio, having seen the idea of Fantasio, also decides to make an aircraft, but not himself, but orders it to an experienced mechanic for money. It is clear that his zantadjet demonstrates the best flight qualities on tests. However, the desire to show off leads to a fire, and only thanks to Spir, who controls the phantacopter, manages to avoid tragedy.
In the second round of the struggle for inheritance, rivals need to take part in auto racing and finish in the top six. In order to master the skills of piloting, Fantasio and Zantafio enroll in the Turbo Automobile Society. Five days before the start of the Grand Prix, the main drivers of the Turbo suddenly disappear, and the manager has no choice but to replace them with trainee pilots. Fantasio finishes third, despite Zantafio’s attempts to put sticks in his wheels. A month later, at another Grand Prix, Zantafio comes first, but that race is marked by accidents, and the winner is the only one who avoided collisions. Three pilots mysteriously disappeared. An investigation is underway, but Spiru and Fantasio already know who's behind it!
In the third trial, rivals will catch and give the zoo marsupils, a rare beast about which science knows little. Spira and Fantasio head to Palumbia. Overcoming the difficulties and dangers lurking in the wilds of the Palumbian forest, at the foot of the volcano, our travelers find the one they are looking for. And Fantasio gets his inheritance!
Spirou in a bright red groom costume, who first appeared on the cover of the magazine of the same name in 1938, is a real legend of the Franco-Belgian comic book. For 85 years, together with his friend, tireless journalist Fantasio, and a faithful companion, a smart squirrel named Spip, he travels the world, investigates mysterious events, rescues those who are in trouble, restores justice and punishes villains, and along the way makes thousands of amazing discoveries. The series about his adventures has more than 50 volumes, and the opportunity to draw at least one story about Spira is an honor for the best comic artists in Europe.
The most important event in the fate of Spirou was the meeting with Andre Franken (1924-1997). The talented artist worked on the series for almost a quarter of a century and brought it to the level of a masterpiece of 9th art. In Russian, eight of Franken’s best albums are published for the first time, including “Spiru and Heirs”, “Marsupil Abductors”, “Rhino Horn”, “Moray Moray Lair”, “Nest of Marsupils”.
“The Adventures of Spiro and Fantasio” will appeal to children from 7 years old and their parents, who will appreciate the famously twisted plot, humor and magnificent drawing.
