The military expansion of the Mongols in the 13th century had a huge impact on the history of the peoples of Eurasia. Its consequences were reflected in multilingual sources and arouse constant scientific interest. The horror of the death of many people and states, cultural monuments and the destruction of the economy have not been forgotten even after centuries. The result was the unification of most of Eurasia under the rule of Genghis Khan and his successors. The Mongols destroyed the largest state of Central Asia - Khorezm. Its last ruler, the talented commander Jalal ad-Din Makburny, managed to inflict several defeats on the conquerors, but in the decisive battle near the Indus River his troops were defeated by Genghis Khan's troops. After that Jalal ad-Din created a state in Western Iran, the Middle East and the Caucasus. For six years, from 1225 until the death of Khorezm Shah in 1231, his state held back the advance of Mongol armies to the West. The author of the book builds a detailed biography of Jalal ad-Din Maqburna. With the large number of studies of Mongol expansion and the personality of Genghis Khan, their most famous opponent has not received such attention. The book is intended to restore historical justice by becoming the first fatherland scientific study of the life of the last Khorezm Shah.
