Alexander Rusinov, nicknamed Mammoth, worked in a closed institute, which was engaged in the return of lost treasures. The Ural Mountains attracted scientists not only with natural gold and semi-precious stones. Through linguistic research and an encounter with a strange man calling himself Avega, Mammoth comes to believe that the Stone Belt separating the continents holds secrets more valuable than solar metal. Here he encounters circumstantial evidence of the existence of guardians of the secret treasures of a previous civilization. After the collapse of the USSR, the scientific institution was closed, and all the research materials ended up in the hands of international conspirators. Mammoth manages to hide his findings, and he makes an attempt with a friend of the institute to go to the Urals and bring the case to an end, but finds there something unexpected....
