"Sociology of Revolution" was first published in Russian in 1923, when P.A. Sorokin was in Czechoslovakia. After moving to the United States, he translated it into English and published it only two years later. The Russian typescript of the book lay in archives (first in Prague, then in Kiev) for more than 80 years before it became available to Russian readers. The enduring significance of this work is that it dealt the first serious blow to the "idol of Revolution" that European mankind had worshipped throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
The publication is addressed to sociologists, historians and all those interested in Pitirim Sorokin's work.
