The first posthumous collection of M. L. Gasparov's works (in six volumes) aims to convey as fully as possible the multifaceted nature of his scientific interests and to present the main directions of his work. The fifth volume, devoted to Gasparov's translation work, includes both his own translations and articles on the work of the translator and translation as a field of philology, presented here in maximum completeness. The volume opens with the monograph Experimental Translations, published by Mikhail Leonovich in 2003 as a result of his many years of work on translations into Russian of texts by ancient and medieval authors, as well as Renaissance and New Age poets. In the vein of his scholarly work are articles on Russian translators from Brusov to Marshak, as well as notes in memoriam by S. V. Shervinsky, M. V. Shervinsky, M. E. Grabar-Passek, F. A. Petrovsky, and S. A. Osherov. A. Osherov.
