"Dog's Heart" is one of the most famous and memorable works of Mikhail Bulgakov. With inimitable sarcasm and humor, Bulgakov described Professor Preobrazhensky's unprecedented risky experiment to turn a dog into a human being, creating a magnificent parody of the paradoxical environment of Soviet Russia in the 1930s. The cruel experience of breeding a new "breed" of human beings shows that one cannot experiment with nature with impunity and change God's Providence for political purposes. The children of such experiments are capable of destroying their creators.
The collection also includes other satirical works: "Crimson Island", "The Devoliad", "Fatal Eggs".
