The book by Metropolitan Vladimir (Ikim) of Omsk and Taurida, "Words on the Twelve and Great Feasts," is an organic addition to his cycle of liturgical sermons on the Gospel and Apostolic readings for each day, entitled "Eternal Treasure," and contains sermons on the themes of the most important feasts of the church year, as well as on some other special occasions (Patriarchs' anniversaries, New Year) — 73 Words in total. In these sermons, patristic exegesis is combined with contemporary spiritual and moral issues and the history of the Russian Church of the 20th–21st centuries, refracted through the author's personal long-term experience of archpastoral service. The book is intended for the widest Orthodox readership.
