"What a beauty these fairy tales are! Each one is a poem!" - wrote A. S. Pushkin. The poet was captivated by people's creative imagination, fantasy, artistic imaginative thinking, the element of language. Pushkin did not just put Russian fairy tales into verse, and as a folk storyteller, changed the plot, used elements of other genres, such as songs, lamentations, conspiracies and even details of foreign folklore. In "Tales" Pushkin experimented with the form, but always aimed at the same goal - to show the beauty of the Russian language, and through him and the Russian soul. Vyacheslav Nazaruk's illustrations in the fairy-tale "Russian style" help to realize this goal. Turning not only to folklore, but also to the traditions of Russian illustration, the artist created multi-layered, complex in color and ornamentation drawings.
