Our edition presents a "long" version of the fairy tale, closer to the version of V. A. Zhukovsky. Ivan-Tsarevich's adventures are not limited to catching the firebird, finding the golden-horned horse and marrying the beautiful tsarevna. Ivan-Tsarevich will have to meet with muzhichki lesovychki and Baba-Yaga, fight with the twelve-headed Serpent Gorynych and Koschei the Immortal, as well as die and rise again. The illustrations for the book were drawn by the outstanding artist Nikolai Mikhailovich Kochergin (1897-1974), a representative of the "golden age" of children's illustration. In his works he often turned to folklore and illustrated many fairy tales. It was fairy tales that brought N. Kochergin real fame. The artist seriously approached each new work: tried to see with his own eyes what he was going to draw. Therefore, he visited cities, where the old way of life was preserved, ancient fortresses, cathedrals. Looking at the bright, "festive" drawings by N. Kochergin, the reader as if once again read the book, even more immersed in the world of magical Russian fairy tales. For children up to 3 years old.
