The book by the famous Soviet writer Vasily Alexeevich Popov (1910-1992) includes two of his novels "Wolf's Lair" (1946, 1974) and "Alien Trace" (1956). The first of them tells about the battle of Soviet counterintelligence officers with Nazi saboteurs from the organization "Werewolf" in the spring months of the victorious 1945. Under the vaults of an ancient Teutonic castle, keeping secrets of the past and present, Lieutenant Colonel Smirnov's team is hunting Nazi werewolves and the mysterious Iron Knight. The Soviet scouts are aided by their friends Kolya and Natasha, Russian children freed from Nazi captivity. The second is about the fight against enemy agents in the first postwar years. The action develops in the south of our country. Saboteurs are trying to seize the device engineer Ushakov, in the area of testing which unfolds a multi-move operation. The reader is waiting for chases on mountain roads, night ambushes, shootings, unexpected revelations. The books return to the reader after many years of oblivion.
