The Sheremetev family has occupied a significant place in Russian history for centuries. Field Marshal Boris Petrovich, an associate of Peter the Great, was renowned for his military prowess, and his son, Pyotr Borisovich, established his own theater at the Ostankino estate. His son, Nikolai Petrovich, was a passionate music lover. His name is associated with the most vivid love story of the time: the count married a serf. Young Parasha Zhemchugova, performing on stage, captured his heart. Despite pressure from high society, Nikolai did not renounce his feelings and secretly married her. Their short-lived union left its mark on history: in memory of his early deceased wife, the count founded the Sheremetev Hospital in Moscow.
Amazingly, Praskovia's fate was repeated two centuries later: Nikolai Sheremetev's great-great-grandson, also Nikolai Petrovich, fell in love with an actress, Cecilia Mansurova. Like his ancestor, he proved that true love knows no class boundaries.

This book is a story about people who not only accumulated wealth but also generously shared it: they built churches, helped the poor, and developed the arts. The story of the Sheremetev family shows that true greatness is measured not only by power and wealth, but also by the ability to love, create, and care for others.
