It's not a bad title, is it? This bestseller is written by a venerable English psychiatrist (psychoanalysis, systemic family and group psychotherapy, academic merit and the highest professional authority) and his former patient, a humorist and famous comic actor. The dialog between these unassuming gentlemen is easy and charming, and the subject matter touches everyone. As the old joke goes, "a good thing is not called marriage". This is what they are talking about: why even a happy family can be so difficult, where do family problems come from, how do their children "inherit" them, to then create problems in their own family ... and how can you still stop this problem? and how you can stop this conveyor belt and change something for the better. And also: about family tyranny and tyrants, the benefits of quarrels (not any), psychological "divorce" from parents, child and adult sexual problems and many more. Normal human language in no way prevents the book from being deeply and subtly professional. And all this is thickly seasoned with dry and brilliant English humor. In general, no one has ever read such a book in Russian: it can be a discovery both for professionals (doctors, psychologists) and for a "person from the street".
