A little over two centuries ago, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin wrote his first poem, Ruslan and Lyudmila, which entered the golden fund of Russian literature. The fairytale story of the brave knight Ruslan and his young wife Lyudmila, kidnapped by the treacherous wizard Chernomor, has repeatedly become a source of inspiration for composers, artists and filmmakers.

This work intertwines heroic epic and lyrical sketches, folklore motifs and author's irony, folding into a unique multicolored pattern, and the enchanting music of Pushkin's poems fascinates the reader from the first lines. "The affairs of bygone days, the legends of ancient times" come to life in the illustrations of artist Anatoly Zinovievich Itkin.
