Omar Khayyam was born in the city of Nishapur in 1048. His biography is shrouded in legends, myths and speculations. He was a poet, mathematician, philosopher, physicist and astronomer, under whose guidance the most accurate of the solar calendars that existed at that time was created.
The title of the most famous poet of the East, read all over the world, brought him aphoristic quatrains - rubai, which have become a spiritual treasure of mankind. Omar Khayyam in his aphoristic verses reflects on the meaning of life, on the vulnerability of man in the face of fate, on fleeting moments of joy, glorifies wisdom, love and beauty. Regardless of nationality, religion and culture, everyone finds in them something of his own, something intimate and unspoken.
