"Russia in a Concentration Camp," first published in Bulgaria in 1936, was not only the first book about Soviet concentration camps, but also a verdict on the criminal system of the Bolshevik dictatorship that hid behind the label of "the power of the workers' councils." Undeservedly forgotten, it is much less known in the post-Soviet space than outside it.
This book is the truest and best of all that has been written about the life of Soviet citizens under Communist rule. Already 70 years ago, the author has perfectly understood the structure of the inhuman totalitarian mechanism created by them - that is, what many of our contemporaries do not understand even today. But without knowing the past, it is impossible to understand the present.
