Bora Ćosić is one of the most famous Serbian and Croatian writers of the 20th century. His novel "The Role of My Family in the World Revolution" is a literary mosaic assembled by a little boy, who recounts the lives of his relatives with childlike innocence.

Their home was always full of events. Mother cried when autumn arrived. Father carried rags in his suitcase. Unmarried aunts gave all their money to street musicians. Grandfather ridiculed everyone. And then German troops entered Yugoslavia. Afterward, Uncle "started playing a gramophone to neutralize the screams."

One of the signs of a good book, according to Milorad Pavić, is the ability to read it from any point. "The Role of My Family in the World Revolution" is precisely such a novel.

The collection also includes "Muzil's Notebook." It is a surreal story, once again about family and life. Once again, Čosić used the carnivalesque method, paying tribute to the theory of Mikhail Bakhtin.
