Fantasio's "pretend robbery" for the sake of a grandiose report for "Komarik" turned out to be that he and Spirou were drawn into a real, not imaginary, crime. Competitors got wind that the engineers of the Turbo company had created a revolutionary model, the "Turboturbo". Hoping to get hold of the plans for the new car, the criminals set off an explosion at the plant. But their plan did not work: one part of the plans accidentally fell into the hands of Spirou and Fantasio, and the second, the main one, was taken to North Africa by a Turbo racer named Martin. Spirou and Fantasio fly to Bab el-Bred, not knowing that they have already been identified and are being held by bandits. With difficulty, the friends break away from their pursuers and reach the town of M'Saragba. There they learn that Martin was forced to give the plans to the son of the chief of the Wakuku tribe so that they would not fall into the hands of gangsters. And now the heroes have to find a tiny capsule with microfilm in the vast expanses of the African savannah...

The perky little boy Spirou in a bright red groom's suit, who first appeared on the cover of the magazine of the same name in 1938, is a true legend of Franco-Belgian comics. For 85 years, together with his friend, the tireless journalist Fantasio, and his faithful companion, a smart squirrel named Spip, he has been traveling the world, investigating mysterious events, saving those in trouble, restoring justice and punishing villains, and making thousands of amazing discoveries along the way. The series about his adventures has more than 50 volumes, and the opportunity to draw at least one story about Spirou is an honor for the best comics artists in Europe.

The most important event in Spirou's life was his meeting with André Francken (1924–1997). The talented artist worked on the series for almost a quarter of a century and brought it to the level of a masterpiece of the 9th art. Eight of Francken's best albums are being published in Russian for the first time, including "Spirou and the Heirs", "The Marsupilami Kidnappers", "The Bad Head", "The Lair of the Moray Eel", "The Nest of the Marsupilami". "The Adventures of Spirou and Fantasio" will appeal to children aged 7 and over and their parents, who will appreciate the cleverly twisted plot, humor and magnificent drawing.
