Many people knew about Father John (Krestyankin), who lived in the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery, and traveled to him with their sorrows and perplexities, and wrote letters to him from all over Russia. And from him they received instruction and advice: how to understand their spiritual life, how to act in this or that life situation. Batiushka taught his children love, understanding and forgiveness, faith in the Providence of God, guided people to God.
From the letters of Fr. John, sent and passed on by his addressees, and created this book. It consists of the following parts: "From Correspondence with a Spiritualist," "On the Main Things for a Christian," "Letters to Individual Addressees," "Letters to Various Persons, Arranged by Subject," "Letters from Imprisonment," and "A Word on Spiritualism." The thematic division of the content of the letters will help readers to find an answer to a personally important question. The collection includes letters given to the publishers by Archimandrite John's spiritual friends, as well as letters provided by Father John's keleinitsa Smirnova Tatiana Sergeevna.
