Edward Radzinsky was born in 1936 in Moscow to the family of the renowned playwright Stanislav Radzinsky. Therefore, he was well acquainted with literature from childhood. He graduated from the Moscow Historical and Archival Institute. In 1958, the writer's debut play, "My Dream... India," dedicated to the first Russian Indologist, Gerasim Lebedev, was staged at the Moscow Theater for Young Spectators.
Radzinsky gained widespread recognition after Anatoly Efros presented his play "104 Pages About Love" at the Lenin Komsomol Theater. Russian director Georgy Natanson later adapted it into the acclaimed film drama "Once More About Love," starring Tatyana Doronina and Alexander Lazarev.
Radzinsky's plays were also staged by other prominent theater directors, including Georgy Tovstonogov, Andrei Goncharov, Roman Viktyuk, Valery Fokin, and others. In the 1990s, nine of the author's plays were simultaneously performed on the Moscow stage. His works were also revered by theaters in Denmark, Finland, Belgium, the United States, and Japan.
