In this book we have the opportunity to touch the living graceful heritage of some Pechersk elders, ascetics, who ascended in the Pskov-Pechersk monastery at different times. They have left to the future generations their instructions on important for all Christians themes, from which everyone can learn pious and God-pleasing life. The holy ascetics, the elders of the holy monastery, whom Tikhon Secretarev called "the incarnate Gospel of our days", have left us a spiritual heritage, their precepts - evidence of their enduring glory and continuous intercession for the human race. The Pskov-Pechersk Monastery is a holy monastery, a place of ascetic life of monks and attraction of God-lovers from all over the world, and especially, of course, from Russia. "This is both a spiritual coordinate, where the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who did not leave the world at the Dormition, is immediately marked, and a geographical point where, from century to century, from decade to decade, rivers of Orthodox pilgrims from all over the Christian world flock" (Archimandrite Tikhon Secretarev). For many centuries Orthodox Christians have been coming here to learn how to pray, to listen to the advice of experienced elders, how to organize their spiritual life to live with God. And some stay in this monastery to take monastic tonsure and devote their whole life to divine service. The monks and elders of the monastery are prayerful for all people, who never leave and never leave anyone without consolation and help. In their prayer experience and help - God's grace, spiritual wisdom and understanding of the purpose and needs of each person in this world. After all, one should always and everywhere take care of one's salvation, no matter what rank and condition one or another person is in. "Each of us must watch our steps - how we walk through life, so that the Lord is not angered by it, but glorified" (Bishop Fedor Tekuchev).
