Anyone interested in military history knows that the Kingdom of Prussia was one of the main participants in the Napoleonic Wars. Over the course of a decade, Prussia experienced the bitterness of a terrible defeat, the years of humiliation and titanic work to restore the army that followed, and the joy of a triumphant victory over Napoleon, when the Prussian king, together with the Russian and Austrian emperors, entered conquered Paris. At the same time, in Russian military history literature, the Prussian army, and especially its uniform and equipment, are, to put it mildly, insufficiently covered.
The book is a natural continuation of the author's series of articles on the uniform of the Prussian army, published in the magazines "Stary Zeuggauz", "Serzhant" and "Imperator" in the period 2008-2016. Unfortunately, the magazine format, due to its natural limitations on the volume of published works, did not allow for a full disclosure of the topic: something, especially illustrative material, had to be sacrificed constantly... In this book, we have tried to bring together a description of the uniform, a brief history of the units, original uniform items, equipment and weapons, as well as portraits, engravings and drawings stored in the largest Russian and foreign museums and private collections. Of course, the book does not claim to be exclusive or the "ultimate truth", but we would like to hope that it will serve as a necessary reference material for all those who, by the call of their soul or duty, are engaged in military history and uniforms of the first half of the 19th century: collectors, museum workers, reenactors, fans of military-historical miniatures and simply fans of the history of military uniforms.
