Kir Bulychev (1934–2003) was a Soviet and Russian writer, translator, screenwriter, and playwright, and a Doctor of Historical Sciences. Igor Vsevolodovich Mozheiko composed his pseudonym from his wife’s name, Kira Soshinskaya, and his mother’s maiden name, Maria Bulycheva. Mozheiko was born in Moscow. Since childhood, he loved to read, and was especially fond of the works of science fiction writers. After school, Igor Vsevolodovich entered the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Languages, and later completed his postgraduate studies and began working at the Institute of Oriental Studies. He wrote historical and geographical essays for magazines, did translations, and defended his candidate’s and then doctoral dissertations. In scientific circles, Igor Mozheiko was known for his publications on the history of Southeast Asia. The writer published fantasy stories and novellas exclusively under a pseudonym: in the scientific community, fiction was considered frivolous, and Mozheiko was afraid of facing condemnation from his colleagues. However, he gained the greatest fame as a science fiction writer, opening the doors to the world of endless space, a mysterious future and incredible discoveries for readers. He was especially drawn to creating cycles of works united by common heroes, locations or themes. These include series about the bizarre city of Veliky Guslyar, about the space doctor Vladislav Pavlysh, about the agent of the Intergalactic police Kora Orvat and, of course, about the resourceful girl from the future - Alisa.

"The Adventures of Alisa" is the most famous cycle of works by Bulychev. The main character of the fascinating stories and novellas is schoolgirl Alisa Selezneva - a brave and inquisitive girl; She travels through time and explores the most remote corners of the Universe. The prototype of Alice was the writer's daughter. Bulychev continued to write amazing stories about a girl from the future for many years. He sought to make children's literature interesting for a new generation of children growing up in the conditions of scientific and technological progress. Bulychev's works were a huge success during his lifetime; they remain popular today. This edition is the sixth and final collection of his works about an extraordinary traveler in the "Library of World Literature" series. The book includes ten stories and short stories: "Dragonosaurus", "Alice and the Sapphire Crown", "Alice and the Enchanted King", "Princes in the Tower", "Freaks and Handsome Men", "Alice and Alicia", "Takan for the Children of the Earth", "Consecration of the Temple of Ananda", "Photograph from the Future", "Reason for a Cat". The text of "Photographs from the Future" is published in Russian for the first time without abbreviations.

The wonderful illustrations for the works were made by the talented Russian artist Dmitry Nikolaevich Nikulushkin.
