In this book, the author attempts to move away from the usual stereotypes of explaining and describing the economy (based on the dogmas of materialism and rationalism, including their varieties such as Marxism and liberalism). Over many years, the author has conceptualized the economy as a crucial part of human and social life from the perspective of a Christian (Orthodox) worldview. The results of this reflection are presented in this book. We are presented with a completely different perspective in various spheres of life.

The book contains works from a wide range of genres: interpretations of biblical stories, essays on pre-revolutionary Russian economic thought, journalistic reflections on the economy of Russia and the world today, commentaries on documents, and theological and philosophical essays on the spiritual nature of the economy.

The author's main principle is "not to reinvent the wheel," but to convey to the reader, as accurately and in an accessible form, the thoughts of the Holy Fathers, Russian thinkers, and pre-revolutionary Russian entrepreneurs on economic issues.
