In the autumn of 1830, while in a three-month cholera quarantine in Boldino, Alexander Pushkin created his groundbreaking cycle, "The Tales of the Late Ivan Petrovich Belkin." While writing, he also formulated his key rule in prose: write clearly, concisely, and precisely.

The narrator, the fictional landowner Ivan Petrovich Belkin, left us five stories, each reflecting its own literary style.

Thus, "The Shot" is romantic, "The Snowstorm," "The Stationmaster," and "The Young Lady-Peasant" are sentimental, and "The Undertaker" is a Gothic novella.

The book also includes the historical novel "The Blackamoor of Peter the Great" and Pushkin's travelogue "Journey to Arzrum During the 1829 Campaign."
