First century AD. The Roman Empire is at its peak. The richest population of the empire luxuriates in the villas of the Mediterranean coast, enjoying the last days of the passing summer. The largest navy in the world is peacefully anchored in Mizen. People are spending money at seaside resorts in Baia, Herculaneum and Pompeii. It would seem that nothing heralds the impending tragedy.
