Spira and Fantasio captured an unknown beast - marsupils so that Fantasio could receive an inheritance. As required by Uncle Fantasio's will, his friends gave him to the zoo, and they have since lost their peace. How can a living creature live in a cage? It's like being in prison! Gradually, they become more determined to take Marsupils from the zoo and return to the native forest of Palumbia. However, they do not have time to implement their plan. First, they are informed that the marsupils died, and then the body of the animal disappears from the zoo veterinarian’s office. They realize that the kidnapper is waiting for the zoo to be closed, so that the body of the poor man can be safely carried out under cover of night. Spira and Fantasio are ambushed and chase after a criminal who manages to escape by swinging over the fence of the zoo. According to circumstantial evidence, Spirou realizes that the Marsupils are alive, and he and Fantasio begin an investigation that leads them to Manyana, where at this time the circus of Zabalione, the famous wildlife tamer, is touring. On the poster, they see the announcement of a new issue, where the public is promised a sensation. They buy tickets to the show and - oh joy! - see marsupils in the arena. He is in excellent shape and makes fun of the owner of the circus Zabalione. Now the friends need to figure out how to get behind the scenes of the circus and free the Marsupils.
Spirou in a bright red groom costume, who first appeared on the cover of the magazine of the same name in 1938, is a real legend of the Franco-Belgian comic book. For 85 years, together with his friend, tireless journalist Fantasio, and a faithful companion, a smart squirrel named Spip, he travels the world, investigates mysterious events, rescues those who are in trouble, restores justice and punishes villains, and along the way makes thousands of amazing discoveries. The series about his adventures has more than 50 volumes, and the opportunity to draw at least one story about Spira is an honor for the best comic artists in Europe.
The most important event in the fate of Spirou was the meeting with Andre Franken (1924-1997). The talented artist worked on the series for almost a quarter of a century and brought it to the level of a masterpiece of 9th art. In Russian, eight of Franken’s best albums are published for the first time, including “Spiru and Heirs”, “Marsupil Abductors”, “Rhino Horn”, “Moray Moray Lair”, “Nest of Marsupils”.
“The Adventures of Spiro and Fantasio” will appeal to children from 7 years old and their parents, who will appreciate the famously twisted plot, humor and magnificent drawing.
