The position of the starry sky is constantly changing over time. Planisphere (movable star map) allows you to see the position of stars at a certain date and time. To do this, you need to align the date (on the star map) with the time of observation (on the plastic transparent circle). The visible part of the star map will show you the approximate location of stars and constellations of the Northern Hemisphere at mid-northern latitudes. In the invisible part will remain stars and constellations invisible at this moment in time. Then raise the map above your head and orient the inscription "North" with the northern point of the horizon. Everything is ready for observations.
Observing the starry sky is best done in clear weather with weak moonlight. The number of stars in the starry sky is much larger than on the map shown. It should be taken into account that on the map constellations are shown with some distortions (stretched), as it is impossible to depict the celestial sphere on the plane without distortions. Our dial shows the local solar time. The time of your observation may be changed (summer, winter, etc.) and may not correspond to the solar time.
