The final part of the trilogy tells about the remaining four clippers of the "Cruiser" type, built using a composite system - metal framing and wooden sheathing. They became the last clippers of the Russian Imperial Navy.
In terms of pitching and ease of sailing, this series was no better than the previous series.
"The deck windows of the officers' cabins were filled with coal, which made the cabins terribly stuffy. Some of the officers, unable to stand the stuffiness of the cabins and unable to sleep on deck due to the constant action of the jet and the throwing of soot, chose formars as a place to spend the night. The unpleasant effect of the jet on the nerves is too great, in this it can only be rivaled by the howler and the misfire of the propeller in rough seas...".
The material of manufacture made these ships not as durable as their all-metal counterparts. Nevertheless, they served honestly for 24-28 years, first as cruisers and then as training ships, passing the baton to the specially built training ships Verny, Voin, and Moryak.
