The book is devoted to the problem, little studied in the world historiography, of how man oriented in space in archaic cultures, what significance in this orientation had the features of his body structure, the structure of the Earth and the movement of celestial luminaries, primarily the Sun and the Moon, how the astronomical landmarks of the countries of the world were established, what role was played by the orientation according to the countries of the world in the sacred and profane life of society (orientation of cities, temples, palaces, dwellings, burials, cult actions, geographical maps, etc.). The study was carried out on the material of practically all archaic cultures of Eurasia - from China to Tatarstan.
