Georgy Adamovich (1892–1972) was a poet, literary critic, and translator. The book "Justification of Drafts" contains his memoirs, journalism, and selected poetry.

"While Georgy Adamovich began as a poet with a distinctive style, but one of many, by the end of the 1920s he was, first and foremost, a literary critic, and already one of the few. His gift as a memoirist is undeniable. Gumilev, Akhmatova, Bunin—all those he wrote about—emerge from his pen as if they were living beings. But Adamovich doesn't limit his memoirs to "portraits." Behind them shines his vision of literature, to which he remained faithful throughout his Parisian life and which was expressed most fully in his book "Comments." This is a step from Rozanov's "shameless" "Solitary" to Pascal's "bashful" "Thoughts"—back to the essay." (Sergey Fedyakin)
