Aubrey Beardsley. Masterpieces of Modernism
49.99 €
In just a couple of years, the English artist Aubrey Beardsley became perhaps the most famous artist of his time. He was called a "genius of miniature," and his works of art, "wrapped in his ornamental lace," acquired a sense of completeness.

Sophistication, refinement, and capriciousness—these are what Aubrey Beardsley's Art Nouveau style was associated with, and the ornamentation he devised with ease and grace embodied the work's completion, its readiness to be brought to light. Each work of art within his "ornamental lace" resounded with new "music." The artist lived only 25 years, three of which he labored for... eternity! Perhaps he will remain there, for he succeeded in transforming ornament into a work of art.
