At the same time, we have maintained the quality of our books. Under the soft cover - white paper and a unique design. Nothing will interfere with the enjoyment of reading without compromise.
Its author - Sue Johnson - together with her scientific supervisor developed a new approach to therapy in couples - emotionally focused therapy (EFT).
They launched a research project involving couples on EFT (then still in development), couples who were offered behavioral therapy — development of communication and negotiation skills, and couples who did not undergo therapy at all. EFT showed impressive results compared to those obtained in the other two groups. Relationships in couples became closer, quarrels became less frequent, and satisfaction of both partners increased significantly.
The book consists of three parts. Part one answers the eternal question "What is love?" Explains how we lose intimacy, and then love, although we wanted the best, although we understood everything. It contains data from studies on love and relationships.
Part two is a popular presentation of the principles of emotionally focused therapy. Seven healing dialogues covering defining, turning points in relationships that will teach you to use these moments to make the connection strong and long-lasting. Stories from practice and a practical part after each dialogue will help connect the theory of EFT with practice and consolidate each lesson using the example of your own relationships.
The third part is about the power of love. Love that can miraculously heal the wounds that life often inflicts on us. Love that strengthens our connection with the "big world". Love and responsiveness are the basis, the foundation of a truly compassionate, civilized society.
At the end of the book there is a glossary that will help you understand unfamiliar terms.
