Even during Leonardo da Vinci's lifetime, there were legends. He was a mystery to his contemporaries and remains one of the most mysterious figures in human history to this day.
"As a well-spent day brings a happy sleep, so a fruitfully lived life brings satisfaction" - the great Italian remained true to this principle until the end of his days. He believed that both science and art are the path to understanding and transforming the world, and therefore tried to delve into the essence of all the things and phenomena around him - be it the structure of the human body, the flight of a bird, the origin of the rainbow or the theory of painting.

The book publishes selected natural science works by Leonardo da Vinci and his "Treatise on Painting". The translation into Russian was made by the greatest scientists of the 20th century A.A. Guber and V.P. Zubov.
