Nikolai Baibakov. The Last Stalinist People's Commissar

Nikolai Baibakov has remained in the country's history not as a long-term chairman of the USSR State Planning Committee or even as a political longevity. His real name is the father of the oil and gas complex. It is to Baibakov that today's Russia owes its raw materials power. Baibakov worked with Stalin, Voroshilov, Budenny, Beria, Kaganovich, Molotov, Mikoyan, Khrushchev, Malenkov, Brezhnev, Gorbachev.... He carried out the famous Kosygin reform hand in hand with its originator. He is Stalin's last People's Commissar. The only one of those People's Commissars to whom fate gave as a reward or as a punishment to see Russia of the XXI century. Baibakov survived the collapse of the Stalinist system of power, the collapse of the planned economy, the collapse of the USSR. But his faith in the correctness of the Soviet system of life remained unbroken. In the book Valery Vyzhutovich attempted, turning to archival sources, party and government documents, memoirs of contemporaries, to show Nikolai Baibakov as he really was, without "Soviet" or "anti-Soviet" retouching.
