In the fall of 1920. About 150,000 of our compatriots left Russia. The ranks of the Russian Army of General Baron P. N. Wrangel, the Black Sea Fleet (under the command of Admiral M. L. Kedrov) and civilian refugees left the ports of the Crimea on ships and vessels. This tragic event marked the end of the active phase of the Civil War. The unprecedented in history operation to evacuate a huge number of people in a short time and with limited opportunities was possible primarily due to the clear and competent actions of Russian sailors. It is from the "maritime point of view" is considered the history of the Crimean Exodus in 1920 in the proposed book. On the pages of the collection for the first time fully published "A brief sketch of the actions of the fleet during the evacuation of the Crimea in November 1920 and its stay in a foreign land" - a unique document compiled in Bizerte Captain 1st Rank N. R. Gutan, in which the events, starting from the evacuation of the Crimea and ending with the arrival of Russian ships in Bizerte, are described with exhaustive detail almost by the hour. "Short sketch" is supplemented by the testimonies of the participants of the events: the famous emigrant publicist and writer S. K. Tereshchenko, writer and memoirist A. L. Voyevodin, as well as ship's midshipman N. N. Rachinsky and midshipmen P. P. Krylichevsky and N. N. Alexandrov. All these memoirs have not been previously introduced into scientific circulation. The publication of this book becomes especially important in the year of the 100th anniversary of the Russian Exodus, when the anniversary of these tragic events is celebrated for the first time at the state level not only in Russia, but also in the countries that became a refuge for Russian people forced to leave their homeland. The publication is intended not only for specialist historians, but is also addressed to a wide range of readers interested in the history of the Civil War, the White Movement, the navy and the Russian emigration.
