This issue of the journal "Marine Collections" presents a previously unpublished manuscript by Rear Admiral M.I. Smirnov, dedicated to little-known chapters in the history of the Civil War—the River Combat Flotilla's 1919 military operations on the Kama River.
The author also touches on the 1918 campaign on the Volga, the history of naval units fighting on the land front, and the creation and activities of the Ob-Irtysh River Combat Flotilla.
This text is based on the authorized typewritten version of the manuscript, written in September-October 1920 in New York. The original is held in the State Archives of the Russian Federation (F. r-5881. Op. 1. D. 472).
Most of the original's features have been preserved during preparation for publication. Obvious typos have been corrected, commonly used abbreviations (city - town; river - river, etc.) have been expanded, and the author's handwritten corrections have been incorporated into the text. The scientific editor's additions and clarifications are provided in square brackets. Preparation for publication, scientific editing, and annotations were performed by PhD in History N.A. Kuznetsov.
