The Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church has published the book “Selected Prayers to the Lord God, the Most Holy Theotokos, and the Holy Saints of God.” The publication is a collection of prayers intended primarily for use in performing glorifications and services of supplication. In addition to prayers to the Mother of God and the most revered saints, the book includes prayers to the Lord from some required sequences that can be performed with varying degrees of solemnity (for example, prayers from “Prayer Singing at the Beginning of the Teaching of the Youths,” prayers for the blessing of artos and Easter food, for the blessing of fruits and kutia, for the blessing of travelers), and individual prayers offered during services in special historical circumstances (such as “Prayer for the End of Civil War” or “Prayer on Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War”). The book has 5 parts: "Prayers to the Lord God", "Prayers to the Most Holy Mother of God before Her Saints and Miraculous Icons", "Prayers to the Saints", "Prayers to the Councils of Saints" and "General Prayers". The prayers to the Lord are printed in the order of their reading at the service in accordance with the events of the church and civil calendar. Prayers to the Most Holy Mother of God before Her icons and prayers to the Saints of God follow in the order of the modern Russian alphabet (as if the names of the icons and the names of the saints were translated into modern graphics). Prayers to the Councils of Saints follow in the order of their supposed frequency of use in liturgical practice, and general prayers follow in accordance with the order of services in the General Menaion. For ease of use, the contents of the book are displayed on the first pages of the publication.

The book is a lectern-sized hardcover book with gold embossing, printed in two colors in large-size Church Slavonic font on tinted offset paper, decorated with festive headpieces and ceremonial initials. We hope that it will be liked by the clergy and will be a good help to all who are not indifferent to the matter of the proper performance of divine services.
