How should Marusa Bedokur live? She understands everything literally in her seventeen years! She feeds flowers literally - with human food, and she wants to kill a worm literally - she goes to the vegetable garden to dig it up, and cooks chicken in the sleeve of her jacket... The children adore Marusya for these oddities, but the owners of the house, where Marusya was taken as a domestic helper, got it. But Dr. Fyodor Petrovich, his wife Alyona, and grandmother Laura Pavlovna passed the test for kindness, and now Marusya is loved by everyone. Thanks to this glorious fantasist everyone became more tolerant and kinder.
In the story by Natalia Smirnova and Maria Melik-Pashaeva a lot of witty wordplay, which will be understood and appreciated by readers over 7 years old. Marusya lives in the village of Bedokurovo, and works in a house on Veselaya Street, so you can guess at once that it will not be boring. The hard-working Marusya tries her best, but all she gets out is nonsense, nonsense, nonsense. It's good that the owners are understanding: they are surprised by Marusya's tricks, barely restraining laughter. Marusya on them for this is not offended, she is generally very kind, knows how to be friends, and six-year-old Zhenya in her soul does not dote. And Marusya is also a genius at baking pies. And for these pies Zhenya's grandmother Laura Pavlovna - an honored zoo worker - would give her life. Pirozhki in the book has an important role, as well as skinny gray cat: on it Marusya on the first day Marusya changed the bedding and therefore called Prostynka. Because of Prostynka a whole battle is being played out on Veselaya Street! Young St. Petersburg graphic artist Alisa Yufa has perfectly conveyed the wonderfully light and lively atmosphere of the book. Her drawings illustrate the funniest moments and create humorous images of all the characters.
