The Mamontovs: Portraits and People
29.99 €
The book tells about the fates of representatives of several generations of the Mamontov family, captured in portraits of famous Russian artists of the late 19th - early 20th centuries: I. Repin, V. Serov, V. Vasnetsov, M. Vrubel, K. Korovin and many others. Much attention is paid to the history of the creation and existence of the portraits themselves, the relationships between the artists and their models.

The publication presents more than 120 paintings and graphic works from more than 40 museum and private collections in Russia and neighboring countries.

The book was written by Andrey Vadimovich Gorodnyansky, a candidate of historical sciences and a leading researcher at the Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve, and is based on documentary materials from archives, museum funds and family collections.
