Dietrich Dörner is Professor and Dean of the Department of General and Theoretical Psychology at the Institute for Theoretical Psychology at Otto-Friedrich University in Bamberg, Germany.
In 1986 he received the German Research Community's Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, which is Germany's most honored research award. This is a book about strategic thinking in complex situations, about why it often turns out that "we wanted the best, but it turned out as usual", about our human shortsightedness and our cognitive errors. And where is the solution? How can a person avoid failures in planning and decision-making? How to learn to think systematically? These questions are answered by D. Dörner in his book "The Logic of Failure". The work is well structured, supplemented with schemes, charts, graphs, drawings - in general, made on the conscience.
