She was born back in 1947 on an ice floe in the Kara Sea, at an Arctic polar station, and passed away in the hot summer of 2022 in Moscow, having managed to compile this final book, give it a title and write the last story for it already in the hospital ward... Anna Radziwill grew up in Kolyma, Magadan, and even at the Pole of Cold in Verkhoyansk. But the constant point of attraction for her has always been her beloved Leningrad, where after graduating from school she entered Leningrad State University. A. Zhdanova, dreaming of learning to write stories. However, this was not taught at the philology department, and very different life circumstances forced her to master a variety of professions: a teacher of Russian language and literature, an engineer, a factory radio editor, a translator, and even an instructor-trainer of service dogs. And everything came in handy, because from her youth she learned Kuprin’s order that a writer must “see everything, know everything, be able to do everything and write about everything.” This book is a tribute to the memory of a Woman with a whimsical fate and a truly Russian Writer. And thanks for her inspiring creativity.
