In the book offered to the reader will talk about a sad page of English shipbuilding - line cruisers "Ripals" and "Rinaun". These ships appeared at the request of the First Lord of the Admiralty Admiral D. Fisher as the crown of his passion for fast, well-armed, but lightly armored line cruiser. Launched in January 1915, both ships by the time of clarification in the Battle of Jutland the insolvency of the class of line cruisers were hastily completed and, therefore, they could not be timely corrected conceptual errors D. Fisher. Fortunately for their crews, World War I soon ended, and later the cruisers underwent several costly modernizations and met World War II as 24-year veterans. Fate kept the "Rinaun" safe, which is not the case with the "Ripals" - despite its transfer out of harm's way to the less strenuous Far Eastern theater of war. After the war "Rinaun" was safely scrapped, and the lost "Ripals", which since 2002, according to the decision of the British authorities received the status of a military burial ground, is dismantled at the bottom by illegal scrap metal collectors.
