We present to you the fairy tales of René Klok, retold by N. Lyaskovskaya, with illustrations by the author.

The first story in the book "Forest Stories" is titled "In Search of a House," but in fact, it would be more appropriately titled "How the Hare Looked for a New House." Author René Klok follows the canons of folk tales. It all begins with the main character, a hare named Ears Apart, leaving her home and setting out in search of a new home, which leads to various events. These episodes are sequentially linked, similar to the fairy tales "Kolobok" or "The Turnip." The hare encounters various forest dwellers—a mouse, a squirrel, and a frog. Each offers him a different shelter: the mouse suggests a hole, the squirrel a hollow tree, and the frog a shelter by the river.
