Even in V. Bianchi's childhood and youthful writings, he accumulated a wealth of personal impressions and observations that, later reinforced by his experience as a hunter-naturalist and his knowledge as a researcher, were revived in "The Forest Newspaper"—a book about the continuous cycle of natural phenomena.
V. Bianchi understood that the life of nature is closely intertwined with the lives of people and depends on it. Therefore, before each reprint, the author reviewed the entire text—adding additions, changing some, or removing them entirely.
In many of his beliefs, Bianchi was relatable to today. He understood the interdependence of all life on earth and held the laws of nature in high esteem.
More than thirty years have passed since the author's last edit. To ensure that "Lesnaya Gazeta" kept up with the times, as the author intended, people like Bianki in spirit and outlook, who knew and loved nature—writers Nikolai Sladkov and Alexei Liverovsky, biologists Modest Kalinin, and the writer's son, Vitaly Bianki—decided to examine "Lesnaya Gazeta" with a "modern eye" and made the necessary adjustments. Since 1928, "Lesnaya Gazeta" has been reprinted numerous times, firmly establishing itself as a treasure trove of children's literature. It can rightfully be called a literary monument.
