Nari doesn't believe in magic. Yet she has unusual talents - her knowledge of languages and her ability to heal illnesses. This, as well as other tricks, helps her make a living as a thief and petty crook on the streets of 18th-century Cairo. She hopes her luck will change and she will go to Istanbul to study medicine.

Nari's appearance will set off another round of deadly feuds and a magical war that spans centuries....
