Each time has its own heroes. In the late 80s, the hero of the time was Ivan Miroshnikov, the hero of the story and the eponymous movie "Courier" by Karen Shakhnazarov. Before "Courier" was not in literature and cinematography such free young men like Ivan - boldly, on equal terms talking to adults, rejecting authority and breaking stereotypes. Behind this bravado, the finely sensitive reader and viewer will see the confusion of a young man who does not yet know how he wants to live, but knows for sure that it is not the way he is required to live by the laws and decency invented by an unknown person. "- What do you dream of? - To buy a coat, winter is coming, and I have nothing to wear. - Here's your coat! I don't need it anyway, I'm going into the army soon. But you wear it and dream of great things..." The peers of Ivan Miroshnikov and his friend Bazin, who dreamed of a new coat, are no longer "children" but "fathers". But they recognize each other by phrases from the Courier: "Dream of great things..."
